Hi I like to ask question I do not know the best way to export theses files into trainz. They are places.shp and there is another one called Railway stations.shp at this moment they are blue crosses on dem when exported to Trainz 12 or below they are blue dots.
As i already know they are mkrs of locations or stations.
can someone help me as I need a video tutorial or picture tutorial to understand this and what kuid when exporting it into Trainz 12 or below
Shape files (*.shp) are vector data. Vector data in TransDEM usually marks the course of a railway line or other other predominantly line-type features. But it's not the prime data source for orientation. That is the raster map, often a topographic map. Because of this, TransDEM does not load any accompanying text labels for vector data.
Where do your places.shp and stations.shp originate from?
Are you trying to use them in combination with a raster map or to substitute the raster map?

There is O/S OpenData Vector Map District which is available as raster data in GeoTIFF format. TransDEM should be able to read it, including georeferencing information.
There are also the classic O/S 1:50000 and 1:25000 raster maps. These used to be available as "map tiles" via the Microsoft server but that has changed. I think the O/S online map service and Streetmap UK still have them but they need manual georeferencing.
And there are the historical O/S map collections available as map tiles (1:50,000)
