Ground texture display query

I have loaded Trainz 2012 onto a laptop which says it is ok, yet when I load a scenario or the Muengsten tuturial the ground is full of
black and white triangles. Is there anything I can do to get the ground texture correct. I am running Windows 7.

In Trainz Content Manager settings, switch off the "Hardware Texture Compression" option. Then re-install the TransDEM ground textures.

Still getting black and white triangles all over the baseboard,

Just switched from direct x 11 to open GL and it seems ok. Will check out more thoroughly later.
