Using TranDEM on 2nd Computer

#1 Post by jackdownunder »

I realise that the licence is for one install, however was wanting to play with the new DEM data from UK Ordnance Survey, while away for a few days.
So copied the directory onto a large USB flash disk and took it with me.
Obviously it could not find the registration data and did not allow me to use it.
Is it possible to set it up or is this part of the license agreement.
Regards from temporary location Harrington, NSW, Australia

All installed programs write to the registry. I am not giving potential license breaching instructions, but it'd be wise to move the whole package, registry included. After all it is your second pc, or is it? :)

Actually I have three PC's two desk tops and a laptop.
Do not run duplicate software on any of them without a licence, may have different versions on each.
The lap top normally is only used when away from home, work or holiday.
Sometimes would like to run a secong copy like TransDEM while away, but not exactly important.

G'day jackdownunder,

I am probably too late for the trip that you are taking on which you wish to use your laptop but you should simply install the TransDEM-*.*.*-Setup.exe file that you downloaded for the PC on your laptop, providing the same license information (your personal one) when requested during the install process...

...I quote from the licence agreement...

..."...GRANT OF LICENSE. This License Agreement (License) permits you to use a single copy, or multiples
copies
if you are the only user of the software product identified above, which may include user
documentation provided in on-line or electronic form (software). This grant of using the software is restricted
to non-commercial purposes. The software is licensed as a single product, to an individual user. The
software is in use on a computer when it is loaded into the temporary memory (i.e. RAM) or installed into the
permanent memory (e.g. hard disk) of that computer. This software may be installed on a network provided
that appropriate restrictions are in place limiting the use to registered users only
....
