Newbie with a problem

#1 Post by Train Freak »

G'day

I'm new to TrainzDEM but when i go to save my project TrainzDEM just freezes (not responding) and then i have to exit without my project saving. Can this problem be fixed? If so any help would be fantastic.

What did you try to save, DEM or georeferenced raster map? Does it freeze before or during the actual save operation? If before, do you have any external or network drives which may not respond? If during a save operation: These run in the main thread and will freeze the user interface temporarily. Depending on the amount of data and the speed of your machine, this may take a while. The hourglass cursor will be shown while this operation is in progress.

Your state mapping agency may offer vector maps, but more often you will trace the course of the railway line yourself. See the Map Tiles Tutorial (No 7) in the TransDEM main manual.
