How to use Reuse Existing KUID in Ground Texture Exporter

#1 Post by DmitryKz »

Hello.
Please clarify my confusion about the using of the Reuse existing KUID option in Ground Texture Exporter.
I assumed that this option enabled would cause the same map (ie with the same name) in the export directory to be overwritten without changing the kuid.
But I am faced with the fact that the number of the kuid is always incremented by 1 (ie the second group of numbers — after the user ID).
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to do it right.

I have checked the code: TransDEM looks for an existing route with the desired name in the specified export folder and its sub-folders and will take the KUID from config.txt. If the reuse option is set, it will not assign a new KUID.

Just tested it and it works for me.

I suggest not to change the KUID manually when exporting the second time. It may override other settings.

Yes, of course, I did that too. But nothing changes, the same behavior is the continuing increment of kuid.
Here, I repeated the test again without manual intervention (except at the very end in the last iteration) and on a different operating system::

I did all this on two operating systems: Windows 7 and Windows 10 - I always got the same thing.
To be honest, I noticed it even after purchasing TransDEM - but then I didn’t attach any importance to it, I just did a Reset, since I built only one route and it was easier to press the Reset button than to figure it out.

Another incomprehensibility is happening.
In the Export UTM Tile dialog the "overwrite, keep KUID" option is enabled:

but after export I get a message "UTM tile exists, skipped".
