New user: Questions about getting started

As a new user to TransDEM (Trainz version), I am overwhelmed by all the information in the manual. Is there anyplace else to go to find information on exactly how to use this program? The tutorials do not walk through the process like I would expect. I cannot get the info I need to even find and download the proper map to get started. Anyone out there speak a non-technical language that can walk me through some of this?

Before we go into any detail: Which parts of the Quick Start Guide did you complete? One of its paragraphs points to the Map Tile tutorial which in many users' opinion is the easiest way to obtain a map.

Thanks, Roland. I have been conversing on the Trainz forums and think I have got a good bit of this sorted out. I am still struggling with how to name files and exactly where to put them (I just am NOT very computer literate), but seem to be making progress. I am just going to play around with it for now.
