TANE

Hi All,

I have just pre-ordered TANE.

Will my current TransDem work with this new version of Trainz, or is there an update for it in the near future.

Thanks
Peter

I expect T:ANE to behave the same way as previous new versions of Trainz. Until now Trainz Surveyor has always been backward compatible and I have no indication for T:ANE to be different. That means routes generated with the current version of TransDEM should be importable with T:ANE.

However, the other way round, TransDEM reading routes written by T:ANE Surveyor, will need an updated TransDEM, since Trainz route file formats will change. We are currently in the T:ANE pre-beta/beta stage and file format modifications may not be finalised yet (I remember them being changed more than once during the beta phase of TS2009).

I supported T:ANE via the Kickstarter campaign right from the beginning and I definitely intend to adapt TransDEM to the T:ANE route file modifications, but I can't say how long this will take.

Thank you Roland,
Unfortunately I took a long break from Trainz, and came back into it after the Kickstarter program was started. :(
I look forward to Tane and any new TransDem update.
Thanks for your prompt reply
Peter.
