Baseboard Offset

Good evening Roland,

I have a route that is at an intermediate stage at the moment with all track work and signalling complete and with a fair amount of scenery placed.

It was originally built using OS Terrain50.

Now that LIDAR is available I have created and exported a new map using that data.

I copied the new mapfile.gnd into the old route folder but upon opening the route in surveyor the baseboards are offset 4x baseboards to the west by 1x baseboard to the north.

Is there any way that this offset can be altered in Transdem so that the route matches the new terrain?

Thanks.

Chris.

Cancel that.

I've exported a new route using a larger rectangular mask. The new mapfile.gnd matches the old track work perfectly.

It's all about the position of baseboard [0,0] in the Trainz World Coordinate system (TWC). TransDEM defines which baseboard becomes the TWC origin [0,0] and also places the World Origin object there. It's usually the centre of the export range but with a crescent-shaped route may also be shifted in any direction. Depending on your export mask and the optional route filter, the export range may vary between two invocations of the route generator and baseboard [0,0] with it. The TransDEM info file, generated with each export, provides some basic information for comparison.
