Bicubic filter

Is the selection of the Bicubic Filter sticky? How can I tell if it is active?
Yes, it has checkbox-type behaviour. In checked state it is shown with a black border and grey background.
Windows introduced this style around 10 years ago. I have to say I still prefer the classic one with sunken appearance but compared to what they now propagate, since Windows 8, abandoning any form of style guide and standards, I find black border/grey background rather legible.
