Georeference Maps

When I try to enter the correct size in Mask Editor...I save as 600 x 600 but the size does not actually change...it remains as it was.
This may be the reason why I am unable to save georeferenced maps as a group.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards
Ian

Ian, I'm afraid you have to enlighten me with more details, the usual what, where, how, why etc.

Hi Roland
Tutorial
Georeferencing Topographic Maps 1.14
When I try to enter the correct size in Mask Editor...I save as 600 x 600 but the size of the file in the directory does not change. It remains at 800 x 800.
Creating a group of maps 1.3
Then when I try to save three georeferenced maps as a group Transdem does not adjust the working area scale to accommodate the three maps. They are in effect piled on top of each other, so only one map is visible.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards
Ian

Still confused (could be the sudden summer heat

). Are you referring to the manuals? If yes, which chapter? If not, which tutorial(s)?

Yes I was referring to the manual called:-
Routes in England from geo data with Transdem Trainz Edition
Georeferencing Topographic Maps...chapter1.14
The problem I am having is this:-
using the mask editor I am unable to save the maps at the correct size...ie 600 x 600. I can alter the map size with an external programme but that is not how it should work.
Creating a group of maps...chapter1.3
I load the first map no problem but when I load the second map Transdem does not adjust the working area scale in order to allow any subsequent maps to be loaded.
Hope this all makes sense
Regards
Ian

Is that the one I wrote in 2005 or 2006? If yes, then I'm afraid that one is past its expiry date.
How far have you got with the Quick Start Guide from the current TransDEM manual?
There are a couple of UK specific geo data sources, but before you start with them you should have made yourself familiar with the TransDEM basics. The tutorials recommended by the Quick Start Guide may not point to UK locations, but the procedures presented there will work globally.

Hi Roland
I was using the tutorial from 2005.
Not read quick start guide from current Transdem manual...not sure where it is.
A few years ago I created Dem and installed into Trainz but now I am back with Trainz I would like to carry on where I left off and add to it...that is where I have had the trouble. I am unable to add any map tiles to the tiles I have already created..
Regards
Ian

The Quick Start Guide can be found in the TransDEM Trainz manual, on page 11 in the current edition.
Back in 2005 we did not yet have Map Tiles or any other of the more automated geo referencing techniques. Map tiles are covered by the Quick Start Guide (pointing you to the actual Map Tiles tutorial).
Basically, for the map data sources in use today, you rarely need to refer to manual georeferencing. For a UK route you will normally use either Map Tiles (various providers) or O/S Open Data which also comes with its own geo refererencing.
For DEM I would suggest O/S Terrain 50 which is definitely better that SRTM 3 arc sec and probably still better than the new SRTM 1 arc sec.
