Missing non-track splines

I am trying to add a waterline spline to a TS12 map that already has a track vector layer. I imported content as usual from "editing", but did not get anything new when I opened the route. Then I created a vector layer with the name of my "route" and tried again, with same negative results. I probably should have tried a road or powerline first to see how it works, but I was curious about how water was handled. What am I overlooking?

Hello,

Did you try to replace the existing track spline by a waterline spline?

Best regards

Kurt

Yes, that's an important question because TransDEM will never replace existing vectors.

My problem seems to be adding a second vector file - what is the procedure?
I've tried creating a new layer in Trainz, merging the TransDEM Vector layer into the new layer and then deleting the original. I've tried exporting the vector layer from TransDEM with a new name.
....
I just happened to look (in Surveyor) at another route of the same area rather than my test route, and both vector layers are there, so something in the past several days I did worked - now I just have to figure out what it was.

TransDEM includes all layers when checking for existing vectors/splines. So, if it finds something at the same place as the new polyline, it will ignore the new one.

You can visualise the existing vectors of a Trainz route in TransDEM before exporting any new vectors by importing them from the route.
