Regenerating terrain

#1 Post by SAR704 »

Just wondering. Is it possible to regenerate the terrain, without losing any work? I have spent quite a bit of time tinkering with the track, and don't really fancy doing it all over again. Essentially I want to re-import the DEM. But I assume this requires creating a new route doesn't it?

I essentially screwed up at a major junction. From my calculations, raising the track is going to result in it being about 0.75 or more of a metre higher. Unfortunately, I forgot to not leaved the terrain untouched with the initial track laying.

Not possible with TransDEM, I'm afraid. Even before T:ANE SP2, when round-trip editing was still possible, TransDEM never modified the .gnd files, once generated.

Well adjusting the track height did a little bit in this regard.

I'd also like to ask. Is there a way to import already laid track into another route? I want to get the 75 or so kms of track that I've placed in the game into a larger route. Both routes are my own.

Again, it's a no, I'm afraid. That would also require a round-trip workflow.
