Hello, I have an odd question that I haven't been able to find in the manual.
I just recently purchased a house with a good amount of land and I am planning on building a garden scale model railroad. That said, I have a bit of gradient on my land and I wanted to use Trainz to plan out the route of the layout using TranzDEM to provide the geo data.
Is there a way to use TranzDEM to export a DEM to trainz that would be properly scaled to G-Scale(1:24th).
Change of scale for DEM?
Re: Change of scale for DEM?
I don't think you can change the horizontal scale. I am not aware of any tricks that could do that.
PS: I'll move this topic to the "General" section.

Re: Change of scale for DEM?
Darn. That would have been really useful.
The only idea I could think of is something in TranzDEM that could multiply all of the values by a set amount based on scale, but I could also see that becoming unwieldy.

Re: Change of scale for DEM?
What you can do is to create a DEM by hand, using the TIN mechanism in TransDEM (triangular irregular network). You place control points with a given height, TransDEM creates triangles between them and interpolates every DEM point inside. With the contour line helper, the procedure is not too complicated. This way, you can create any scale you want. See the TransDEM main manual.

Thank you, I will give that a try.
