Revisiting an old problem. I did manage to get tiles downloaded from http://nls-0.tileserver.com prefix="os_6_inch_gb/" but on revisiting the tile server it appears to have gone.
I can manually get the tiles from maps.nls.uk using //maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=15&lat=51.9689&lon=-1.1034&layers=6&b=1
The server uses lat and longtitude rather than x and y. Can the Map tile server be configured to use map coordinated rather than col and row settings?

I was provided with a xml file but this no longer works either

<TileServer version="1.0" >
<Provider name="8 Historic UK" >
<!-- Six-inch England and Wales 1888-1913 -->
<URL addr="http://nlsapi.tileserver.com" prefix="os_6_inch_gb/" postfix=".jpg" standalone="1" type="6" >
<Matrix prefixClm="/" prefixRow="/" minZoom="1" maxZoom="17" order="2" />
<Mercator origLat="90" origLon="-180" signLat="-1" signLon="1" projection="4" />
</URL>
</Provider>
</TileServer>

Any ideas? :?

Download and install the latest map tile settings from my website and "6 inch" should be back. And the 1:25000 is also there.

However, the other two for this provider group, those from Sabre Maps, don't seem to work any longer. It may be possible to replace them with NLS services, but I haven't checked.

And 25 inch is there as well (TransDEM 2.6 required).

I need some more help, the nls tile server has changed again.
I now need Transdem to contact the nls server using degrees format rather than indexes
Example command
https://api.maptiler.com/tiles/uk-osgb1 ... 5/-3.00568
where #14 in the zoom factor
55.76255 is the latitude
-3.00568 is the longitude
The xml file is
<TileServer version="1.0" >
<Provider name="nls-osb 1888" >
<URL type="1" addr="https://api.maptiler.com/tiles/" prefix="uk-osgb10k1888/?key=ycgry6asMyQ5fKqHsnuP" standalone="1" >
<Matrix order="2" prefixClm="/" prefixRow="/" prefixZoom="#" minZoom="4" maxZoom="19" />
<Mercator origLat="90" origLon="-180" signLat="1" signLon="1" projection="4" />
</URL>
</Provider>
</TileServer>

Can the URL Composition be configures to use degrees rather than indexes?

I will have to investigate, but I'm currently on holidays.

As well as looking at raster maps downloads I have been looking at downloading LIDAR dem maps. They use a tif file format that Transdem does not understand. I can convert the tif files to asc files which Transdem does understand but it would be nice to be able to inport the tif files directly.
Regards Mike

The NLS historical maps still working are the O/S 6 inch and the 25 inch series, 6 inch now with a key that seems to be static:
viewtopic.php?p=3417#p3417
See that post also for a link to the latest 25 inch setup.

Regarding LIDAR GeoTIFF, can you show me the data source in question?

The web page is https://environment.data.gov.uk/DefraDa ... ode=survey
I searched for Oswestry,shropshire
using the pencil tool on the right I drew a ring around Oswestry and pressed the download arrow button
kept the default setting of LIDAR composite DTM, 2022, 2M to save space, and downloaded the zip files.

Wish list
Transdem to produce 1m tiles to be used by Trainz 2022 plus which now supports 1m tiles
The xml posting worked for api.maptiler.com but sabre-roads did not, but now I can relearn how to use Transdem for Trainz

They have simplified the user interface but I don't think there are any changes to their GeoTIFF files. I just downloaded another 2022 1m DTM .tif sample and it opens in TransDEM. Is your TransDEM up-to-date?

It's unlikely. Auran had been very cooperative with the file formats in the beginning, almost 20 years ago, but their chief developer nowadays has not been.

I think, all the Sabre tile servers have become restricted. You can analyze the traffic yourself, with a tool like Fiddler.
