I highly recommend this new video tutorial over that older one which involved JOSM and was made by a different author.

wflint created his one working with the TransDEM built-in Simple Route Editor for vector lines, with a TransDEM beginner in mind. It's much easier to follow than the other one.

It doesn't have any audio/dialogue in it. Kind of weird compared to what I'm used to. A written tutorial would more bandwidth friendly in this context.
