Complete newbie here. I know that TrainzDEM can reverse-import height data from existing Trainz routes, and possibly splines. And that's going to be pretty important. The problem is that I've got absolutely no clue how to do it, I can't find any tutorials or guides, and nothing on the UI seems to be for importing data from an existing route. Anybody able to point me to a guide or tutorial of some sort?

Thanks.

Hello BraselC5048,

As I understand it, TransDEM can adjust the route's elevation and edit the coordinates of a route's origin marker only on routes that you imported into Trainz via TransDEM. The TransDEM documentation will confirm that. However, this will only work on Trainz version TANE sp1 and before.

N3V changed how routes are saved into files after TANE sp1. You can still import TransDEM routes into later versions of Trainz but they will be converted to the new incompatible format as soon as you save them.

TransDEM has never claimed to be able to copy or modify Trainz routes that you did not create. Sorry.

Dave

Unfortunately, that was only possible up to T:ANE SP1. After that, N3V made major changes to the route file formats which TransDEM no longer understands.
