This gets particularly annoying. I have the folder set to TRS19 content date xxxxxx, due to issues when exporting to the standard content folder.

I removed almost everything from the editing folder, except for the stuff which Win 10 didn't agree with deleting.

I exported the route from TransDEM , and new UTM tiles. But I was left trying to sort this out for many hours with no success.

It makes me wonder if I've somehow doubled up the UTM tiles or not. Do any possible fixes exist for this issue? It would be good to get some standard, unobstructed UTMs in the route again.

It's all down to the KUIDs. They are the key for Surveyor. TransDEM generates the KUIDs for the tiles, assigns them to the individual config.txt and references them in the .obs file. After that it's Suveryor to show the tile at the designated location, simply by pairing the KUIDs again.

The KUID range is limited initially, a restriction by early versions of Trainz. This may theoretically lead to duplicate KUIDs. This shortcoming can be easily overcome by enabling the extended KUID range.

TransDEM also tries to keep track of KUIDs already used, with an internal list and also scanning the "scenery" folder, but only the default one. This approach has its limitations, but TransDEM has no access to the Trainz-internal data managed by Surveyor.

TransDEM also tries to reuse KUIDs if the data sources changes, but the target location already has been assigned a UTM tile. This is a heuristic process that you can control.
