The track spline points created by TransDEM simply adopt DEM elevation of that particular point. With a standard medium resolution DEM, you will indeed end up with rough track, roller-coaster style. A 50 m DEM cannot not resolve cuttings or embankments, scale is just too low. Trainz Surveyor tools ...

Thanks again. I looked at the options before and I just didn't see the tickbox for this. (Blame it on late nights lol).geophil wrote:Can be done.

Hi. Newbie question again (sorry). Is it possible to set the OSGB36 as the default coordinate system evry time I open TransDEM or will I need to change it every time?

Sorry if this is a completely obvious one, but I am a complete beginner with TransDEM at the moment. Can you tell me what the numbers at the end of the grid lines on DEM grids are for? (eg numbers in purple colour such as 490000 and 500000). Many thanks for any replies and apologies for asking ...
