That is tempting, but I already uninstalled TS12 and do not plan on going back. I suppose if I made the tiles for TS12 and carried it over, I'd still end up with the same result in the end.
I hope to try out your suggestions this weekend, but if not then, at some point in the near future for sure ...

Re: Optimum Settings for Best Looking Ground Textures/UTM Ti
Thank you again for the reply.
I run an older card (AMD 6850) but I do know that when I put in 4096 textures, it did not crash in TANE, so it must be working. I think it came out the same in that sense, but I will try it out later on at that setting. I'll also definitely try the 500 m UTM tiles ...

Re: Optimum Settings for Best Looking Ground Textures/UTM Ti
Sorry to bother you again Dr. Ziegler, but I've tried numerous ways of exporting map tiles without what I was hoping for and I'm getting frustrated because I'm sure I can get better quality map tiles in TANE and I just cannot find out how. Sometimes, pictures are better than words. Here is what I ...

Thanks for your reply Dr. Ziegler. I appreciate the guidance you have given. I have been playing around with some various settings as I'd like to get everything looking the best I can before I do any work on any route. I'm just glad it is not a big one...

Re: Optimum Settings for Best Looking Ground Textures/UTM Ti
There are many factors to consider. The following are just rules of thumb:
Since ground textures are sharper on the 5m terrain grid, I nowadays create my entire route with the 5m grid.
1:24000 resp. 1:25000 is the maximum scale to fully resolve the maps on the 5 m grid. Anything larger should go ...

Optimum Settings for Best Looking Ground Textures/UTM Tiles
Hi All,
I went through the process of making a DEM last night and while I was successful, I was not as happy as I was hoping to be with the final results of the WMS process and 2D Map Tiles. I found both too fuzzy. I'm hoping to have the most crispest images possible for both the ground textures ...

Re: Google Maps Not Working With Map Tile Servers?
Thanks for your help Dr. Ziegler. I did change it to 202 and it seemed to work fine. MS Virtual Earth seemed better in comparison, so I'll use that provider.
Out of curiosity and for future reference, how often do the numbers seem to change? How could one find out what the latest number is?
Gisa ^^

Google Maps Not Working With Map Tile Servers?
Good Day Dr. Ziegler,
I recently got the itch to make a mini DEM and I ran into a small issue with the map tile servers. In the past, MS Virtual Earth and Google Maps have both worked fine for me but I tried to make some tiles tonight and found that only MS Virtual Earth works. Google Maps will ...
