Thanks for your reply and all your help. Funny thing is that I opened the shape files with the example given in the qgis tutorial. When I apply the layer it places the routes way out in central Africa. So yes I would guess the numbers are way off. :lol: Those are not my files but the ones provided ...

Shapefile is WGS84 - The DEM is UTM/WGS84, I am not a professional on this at all, but I do suspect that there is some difference and that is the cause of my problems. However I was able to open a NAD83 on the same WGS84 DEM on TransDem.

Opened route lies outside DEM and will be ignored
I am trying to load a route from the Florida GIS database in a form of a Shapefile. I have the correct DEM at 10m and I can load the georef raster map fine. But when I try to load a route I get the following message "Opened route lies outside DEM and will be ignored" I can open the shapefile fine ...
