Can you take a look at this and see if there is a problem with it? I get an Error reading DEM prompt when I try to open it. Its not particularly big, and its right in the middle of the area I was trying to load before, so perhaps its corrupted data on the part of Geoscience Australia?

The file appears to have a few messed-up values. I have found "-nan" which will probably indicate a floating point exception "not a number". If you open a text editor and replace "-nan" with "-3.4028230607371e+38" which is their placeholder for "void", the DEM should open.

Excellent... so with any luck I should be able to load that big file after all!

Ended up needing to download a 64bit editor to correct the rather large DEM I had first downloaded and errored out on, but it worked - the whole area covered by one large high resolution DEM.

And the great part is, its slightly smaller than the composite DEM I constructed using DEM-S and the LiDAR patchwork. Thanks geophil!
